Sharing the Festival
Since 2016 the ACFF is proud to be ¨Sharing the Festival¨ with the following organizations within Montreal’s mental health service continuum: Donald Berman UP House (Our mission is to foster a peer-support, self-help community that eliminates social isolation and rebuilds the confidence, purpose and community of adults living with a serious mental illness. More information), Chabad Lifeline (Chabad Lifeline is a non-sectarian organization dedicated to helping individuals and families affected by addiction. More information), Racor (The mission of Réseau Alternatif et Communautaire des ORganismes (RACOR) en santé mentale de l’île de Montréal is to bring together, support, equip and represent community and alternative organizations in the region that work in mental health field. More information), and the Société québécoise de la schizophrénie (The mission of the Société québécoise de la schizophrénie is to improve the quality of life of people suffering from schizophrenia and related psychoses. More information).
These organizations leverage their association with the ACFF by raising money through ticket sales to their individually sponsored screenings.
With a growing list of foundation, corporate and individual support, the Au Contraire Film Festival has truly become a collaborative community effort to erase the stigma of mental illness.
